Flat Bread Recipes

This is a bunch of tried and true flat breads that Nikki and I (even Mila) loves. These are all made in the spirit of not having chemicals in our food. We want to make as much as we can and avoid the store bought crap. I hope you enjoy and try these as they take no special equipment and not much time at all. OG Recipe here

Emergency Flatbread Recipe: 5 minutes till eating

100 gr All-Purpose Flour
200 ml Water
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Olive Oil

Mix everything in a bowl with a whisk. Pour into a non-stick pan over medium to high heat with a little Olive Oil and cook for about 2 minutes per side.

Lavash Recipe: 45 minutes till eating

300 gr All-Purpose Flour
200 ml Water
1 Tsp Salt

  1. Mix all ingredients and kneed for 5-8 minutes until it is a nice smooth ball.
  2. Rest the dough for 30 minutes with a damp towel covering it.
  3. Divide the dough into 5 parts and then roll each part into a ball with your hand and the counter.
  4. Let each ball rest for 15 minutes in a damp towel.
  5. Roll out as thin as possible on the counter.
  6. Now over medium high heat with a little oil heat each flatbread for 30 seconds a side.
Tortilla Recipe: 15 minutes till eating

300 gr All-Purpose Flour
200 ml Hot Water
1/2 Tsp Salt
60 ml Olive Oil (3 Tblsp)

  1. Mix everything in a bowl.
  2. Turn out on flour surface and kneed 10-12 times.
  3. Roll in a balls with your hand and the counter
  4. Let rest for 5 minutes covered with a damp towel
  5. On a flour surface roll out
  6. Cook over medium high heat and a little oil in a non-stick pan 1 minute per side.

Paratha Recipe:
  • 300 gr All-purpose Flour
  • 180 ml Lukewarm Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • Keep on the side 36g. Melted Butter
  1. Mix all ingredients together and then knead the dough for five minutes.
  2. Rest the dough for 15 minutes under a damp towel
  3. Once dough rests, cut the dough into 6 pieces and roll them into balls and rest for 15 minutes under damp towel.
  4. Flour surface and roll out the Paratha as thin as possible.
  5. Spread melted butter over the flatten dough. Then pinch the center of the dough and flow the rest of the dough through your hand. This makes pretty folds as if it was cloth.
  6. Roll like a cinnamon bun putting the end underneath. Let rest for another 15 minutes under a damp towel.
  7. Flour the surface and roll out the ball into a 1/2 cm thick.
  8. Heat a non-stick pan and put a little butter in and cook 4 minutes on medium high heat per side.
