Dear Parents,

Welcome to MrMatera.com. I am a firm believer that strong parent-teacher communication is essential to maximize student learning. With that in mind, my hope is that this website will help support effective communication between all of us. Through MrMatera.com, I will work to keep you up-to-date on what we are learning in the classroom.

Other effective ways to contact me are by phone or through written notes.  Please feel free to call me at school, 414-540-3256, or send a note with your child.  Your questions, ideas, and concerns are important to me, and I will proactively work to address them with you.

“What about an e-mail?” you may ask…well unfortunately, email is not the best way to get a hold of me. I do not have the opportunity to answer e-mails during the day, and therefore, don’t want to give the impression that I am not responding. A phone call or written note allow for my quickest reply.

I am incredibly eager to teach your child this year.  As a teacher, my goal is to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students’ critical thinking skills and fosters their self-confidence as learners. The mission and guiding principles of University School of Milwaukee reflect many of the goals, values, and decisions I make as a teacher and community member.  I look forward to working together with you to advance and enrich your child’s learning experience at USM.
